Romance is a common trope that you’ll find in a lot of RPGs, and Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon is no exception to it.
While the entire romance bit isn’t as fleshed out as it is in Baldur’s Gate 3 or The Witcher 3, it still fits right in with the dark ambience surrounding Kamelot. It’s also proof that attraction can be fatal. The way the developers have handled the subject in this post-Arthurian dark RPG shows that romance doesn’t need to be important to the storyline and can be treated as a side quest entirely, just for the sake of the immersion. However, even if you choose to ignore it completely, you’ll not be missing out on anything.
All Characters That You Can Romance in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon
Currently, you can just romance the following characters:
- Alisa
- Morgen
How to Romance Alisa
Alisa is the only individual to have a full-blown romance storyline in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon. You meet her early in the game when you visit the village tavern. Speak to her, and she’ll ask you to help her clear out a manor nearby. She intends to buy it, but it’s overrun by bandits. All you need to do is head to the manor and then kill all the bandits inside.
Head back to the tavern and talk to Alisa once again, but this time, be sure to pick the flirty dialogue options. That should end the current quest for you. Wait for a few in-game days, and then head back to the manor. When you speak to Alisa now, she’ll tell you that her husband is missing and that she wants you to find him.
Head to the nearby mines to find her wounded husband. He’ll give you his ring as proof of his death. Make your way back to Alisa and hand her the ring, lying to her about her husband’s fate. At this point, she wants to leave Kamelot, but you need to convince her otherwise. Tell her she can become a merchant, and when she asks you, help her gather the following materials:
- Silk Gloves
- Ragged Nobleman’s Doublet
- Seashells

For the seashells, make your way to the coast and kill any drowners you find there. Loot their bodies to collect the seashells you need. For the Silk Gloves and the Ragged Nobleman’s Doublet, you’ll need to search crates in the Miner’s Cave. Return to her, and start by giving her the Ragged Nobleman’s Doublet, followed by the other items. Whenever she tries to reward you, be sure to turn it down.
After you’ve finished the quest for her materials, fix the pier close to her house first. Come back and then keep talking to her till she invites you to take a walk on the pier. When you go on this date, she’ll ask you a lot of questions. Answer them as honestly as possible, and don’t select the joke/funny options. Once this is done, Alisa will ask you to move in with her, and you’ll unlock the “Yours Forever” trophy.
How to Romance Morgen
While Morgen is presented as an alternative romance choice in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon, she’s not exactly the stereotypical partner that you would expect. She’s a mermaid and doesn’t have a full-blown storyline, and is rather fatal. So, if you’re on a hardcore playthrough, stay away from Morgen at all costs.

You’ll encounter her when you’re on the “Deep Calleth Upon Deep” questline. When you return the treasure box to her towards the end of the questline, you’ll have a dialogue option that seems like a romantic choice, and the option to move closer. If you choose either, you’re bound to die because she’ll grab you, pull you underwater, and then rip you to shreds with her teeth. Your best choice here is to walk away without a second thought. You should get the option to walk away in the second set of dialogue choices.
This option is a scripted death, so no matter what you do, you will not be able to escape the grim fate that awaits you if you’re trying to hunt for love. There isn’t any trophy or achievement associated with it, and no matter what archetype you’re on, you can’t escape it at all.
